Hiring an Editor!

Spirits is looking for a part-time Editor! This person will be responsible for editing weekly episodes of the podcast and pulling shareable video clips for social media.

We're looking for someone who is excited about podcasting, familiar with editing conversational and interview podcasts, and comfortable working with a small team of dedicated podcasters. They will report to the show’s hosts, Julia Schifini and Amanda McLoughlin.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning raw audio from two hosts and up to two guests per episode

  • Edit audio episodes of the podcast, including 1-2 rounds of notes from the hosts

  • Identify and excerpt video clips to share on social media

  • Mix and export final episode files

Qualifications:

  • Experience editing podcast episodes

  • Clear written communication skills

  • Familiarity with iZotope RX

  • Comfort managing multiple episodes in progress at any given time

  • Familiarity with Slack, Dropbox, and the Google Drive suite

  • Enthusiasm for podcasting as a medium

  • Familiarity with editing video is not required, but would be helpful! 

Details:

  • Pay: $55/hr

  • Hours: 5 hrs/week with possibility for more hours if needed

  • Location: Remote
